Walkies in the Woods | Guildford Dog Photography
In a change to regular features of cute newborns or fun families, today I’m featuring pet portraits. Taken when I tagged along for a dog walk with family friend Sam and her six dogs. Sam works full time as a veterinary nurse while also focusing on dog training and behaviour.
Now, to be honest, I’ve never attempted a shoot with six dogs before. Loving a challenge we arranged a session and went for it. We were treated to a gorgeous autumnal morning, perfect for taking pet portraits in the Surrey countryside.
After going for a little walk first we found a beautiful spot to have the group shot. We did laugh about the unlikely chances of capturing all the dogs looking at the camera and being in the right position at the same time. There were too many exciting distractions, but we got very close!
In order from left to right let me introduce Lily, Box, Noah, Rocket, Dave and in front of him Bacchus.
Sams Dad was on hand to help out while we did individual and smaller group shots. We had a blast, the dogs were great and very well behaved.
Sam has a passion for dog training and pet behaviour. She regularly fosters rescue dogs and while in her care rehabilitates them mentally and physically. This allows the dogs to be more easily re-homed and live a life that they deserve. They join Sam’s pack as one of her own and leave ready for their new lives, which in itself is totally amazing work.
Enjoy the selection from Sam’s session.
I hope I’ve inspired you with these pet portrait photographs. If you would like me to create a set of family portraits for your own clan I’d love to hear from you.
